Why Doesn't God Give Immediate Healing?

Sometimes when God does not heal you, it’s only so He can heal you. God knows if He heals you, you won’t always be healed.

Explanation:

Yes, our all-powerful God, who is THE HEALER, could easily heal you of the pain you are going through, but is taking away the pain and giving complete healing to you in that aspect of your life always the right thing to do? The answer is no. Although God does heal people all the time, healing is not always the right thing to do in every situation. I’m sure at some point you’ve been at church praying for healing over someone, and they just weren’t healed. But does this mean God can’t do it or He doesn’t care about us? Of course not! Sometimes when God says no to immediate healing, it is only so He can heal you further. Romans 5:3-5 says, “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Sometimes we need to go through the pain and sufferings in our lives to get the full healing that God truly wants for us. God wants us all to be healed, and His way of doing it is always the best way. Through all the pain, you can gain great wisdom as well as truly heal from other things God wants you to heal from, other than just your injury or illness. I myself spent 2 and a half years of my life in and out of school, as well as the hospital, battling a chronic illness called AMPS (Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome). During this time, it was not even guaranteed I could walk, and the pain was unbearable. My family and I tried everything we could, but nothing would help. Then, 2 years into the illness, I found Jesus, and God saved me and baptized me in His Holy Spirit at the beginning of my freshman year of high school, and yet not much changed. I prayed and prayed, but I still was unbelievably ill, and at times I questioned why God wouldn’t heal me. Eventually, after an amazing day of prayer, I started walking again, and God healed me from this pain I was facing. It wasn’t until then that I could see the bigger picture and realize why God didn’t heal me right away. It was because, in this time of pain, I truly found Him, learned so much, built so much character, found out what life was all about, broke free from sin, met so many great people, my family got saved, and I grew so much in my faith. I am completely healed now, and although I didn’t thank Him for those times back then, I do now! And also remember, pain is a tool; you can use it for construction or deconstruction, but I think that’s a quote for another day.

From now on, when you get sick, injured, or whatever else may come your way, take time to pray, “Lord, what can you teach me through this?” as well as, of course, praying for healing. Even in times of sickness, God has so much planned for you.
